Some Of My Teeth Look Smaller Than Others. Is That Normal?

You have canines, incisors, premolars, and molars, and they all have different jobs. However, if you think your teeth are not the right size, you can visit a dentist to get help. Here is some information about teeth, the jobs they do, and what to do if your teeth aren't the right size.

Your Tooth Functions

Your incisors are in the front of your teeth, and they are responsible for the initial slicing and cutting of the food, which is why they have an edge. Canines are the pointed teeth next to your incisors, and they help you cut and tear your food. Premolars and molars grind and chew up your food so that you can digest those calories. All of your teeth work together to help with digestion.

Your incisors are usually the smallest teeth, except your two front teeth in your top jaw. Your canines are next in size, followed by your premolars. Your molars are your biggest teeth, as well as the widest.

What If My Teeth Are Small?

How will you know if your teeth are too small? There are some occasions when your small teeth are not unusual. For example, if you have a small mouth, your small teeth may fit it perfectly. Also, if you look at your teeth in the mirror, you may notice that your teeth gradually increase in size from your front teeth to your back teeth- which is normal.

However, if you notice that some of your teeth, such as your canines, are smaller than the rest of your teeth, and it doesn't look natural, you need to talk to your dentist. It's possible that your teeth problem can be solved with veneers or bonding, which can give you a more uniform look.
